Columbia police have identified a suspect in a road rage incident on Millwood Avenue near Gervais Street that left a 60-year-old man injured Thursday morning, Columbia police chief Skip Holbrook said in a news release.
Joseph Lamar Christmas II, 39, is wanted for attempted murder, unlawfully carrying a firearm, and possession of a weapon during commission of a violent crime. Christmas, who has ties to Lancaster, South Carolina and Fayettville, should be considered armed and dangerous, Holbrook said.
Events unfolded around 8:30 a.m. Thursday morning on the 2400 block of Millwood Avenue.
Christmas was a passenger in a burgundy 1990s model Chevy pick-up truck driven by a woman. The truck had the words ‘Tree Works,’ and a North Carolina phone number on the side. He allegedly argued with victim who was in a separate vehicle and shot the victim in the wrist, Holbrook said.
