A man accused of running over his 3-year-old nephew was charged by the State Law Enforcement Division for illegally having a firearm when he was arrested Wednesday.
Corey Fredrick Kitt, 36, was charged with possession of a firearm by a person convicted of a violent offense, according to a SLED news release. Family said after Kitt ran over his nephew, Kevin “KJ” Kitt, the Hopkins man fled.
When state troopers caught up with Corey Kitt early Wednesday, he had a gun on him, according to SLED. He was taken to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center, and was denied bond Wednesday.
