S.C. technical college graduates will be able to seamlessly transfer to Claflin University through a new partnership, the state’s oldest historically black college said Thursday.
The deal allows graduates of South Carolina’s 16 technical colleges to begin studying as juniors at the Orangeburg school.
Claflin, which has more than 2,000 students, is the only historically black S.C. college to be part of the partnership, the school said in a news release.
The S.C. technical college system serves more than 250,000 students a year, Claflin said. Claflin said it can give two-year college graduates a “much shorter path” to graduation through online accelerated degree programs.
