Columbia’s parade is Friday
The city of Columbia’s Veterans Day Parade – one of the largest in the Southeast – is scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday.
The parade will begin at the intersection of Sumter and Laurel streets and travel south on Sumter Street, ending at Pendleton Street near the State House.
The grand marshal is Fort Jackson, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year.
Parking in city garages on Sumter and Lady streets is free.
