Wofford College announced Monday plans to build a Greek Village for fraternities and sororities on campus.
The facilities will be located across Evins Street from the main portion of the campus.
“This Greek Village will provide better chapter facilities that will encourage fellowship and community,” President Nayef H. Samhat said in a written statement.
The announcement comes on the heels of last week's vote by the college's Board of Trustees approving a new strategic vision for the campus, including plans to build the new Rosalind S. Richardson Center for the Arts.
The college said the timeline for building the Greek Village is dependent on a number of variables, including fundraising.
