Revival of the Mind luncheon
The Columbia Area UNCF is holding its annual Revival of the Mind luncheon at noon Dec. 29 at the Brookland Baptist Banquet and Convention Center.
The luncheon brings together Midlands educators, business, civic and political leaders to raise funds and create awareness about the importance of historically black colleges and universities.
Tax deductible tickets for the luncheon will be available at the door.

The Citadel’s accreditation renewed maintains highest standards
The Citadel has received a renewed 10-year accreditation from the South Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.
The college was awarded full reaffirmation of accreditation with no recommendations for improvements or further action required.
S.C. State team takes awards
The Citizens for Nuclear Technology Awareness presented an S.C. State University student and a professor its top awards during the organization’s signature event, the 23rd Edward Teller Lecture Series. Held in Aiken, the event attracted more than 400 scientists, engineers, business and community leaders, elected officials and other advocates who support nuclear technologies.
The Citizens for Nuclear Technology Awareness is a nonprofit, grass-roots citizens organization that educates the public about benefits and risks of nuclear technologies and the Savannah River Site.
