An Arkansas company that provides phone, digital and high-speed internet services is giving away $200,000 in computer equipment to selected schools in South Carolina and 15 other states.
The deadline to apply for Windstream Corp.’s Classroom Connections project is Thursday. Eight $25,000 donations will be made as part of Winstream’s 2009 Green Truck Tour.
Public schools and public charter schools must apply online and are required to submit a video demonstrating need for the donation. For more information: www.greentrucktour.com/classroom.
Company officials said selections will be announced in May and selected schools must make the technology upgrades of donated computers and software by Sept. 15.
