National Guardsmen, volunteers and students from Chapin High School's JROTC met at Old Barn Tree Farm in Chapin to load trees donated from several farms in South Carolina. 'Trees for Troops' is a national organization in it's ninth year that picks up and distributes Christmas trees donated by growers and delivers them to soldiers and their families.
Master Sgt. Jay Bowers hoists donated trees over a fence to be loaded on a truck. "They will ease the burden on some families; fifty, sixty dollars can go a long way, " says SFC Scott Johnson.
