Army Pvt. Cheizray Pressley, 21, was one of four soldiers killed when their unit was hit Monday with an improvised explosive device in Zabul province in Afghanistan, the U.S. Department of Defense announced.
Pressley was a combat engineer assigned to the 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division out of Fort Wainwright, Alaska.
Pressley joined the Army in September 2010 and was assigned to duty in Alaska in January. He deployed to Afghanistan in mid-April for a one-year tour, the Army reported.
