Soldiers, their families and friends will run and walk a 5K Saturday morning at Fort Jackson to honor South Carolina troops killed in the line of duty since Sept. 11, 2001.
The race begins at 8 a.m. at the Hilton Field softball complex. Late registration is available at the field from 7 a.m. 7:45 a.m. All runners and walkers will be given a bib with the name of an S.C. soldier killed in the ongoing wars. Bibs also will be available for participants who want to honor a fallen soldier from another state. The public is welcome to attend.
