The Republican candidates for state superintendent of education debated Tuesday on S.C. ETV It was the second of five that ETV and a group of S.C. newspapers — The State, The Greenville News, The Beaufort Gazette, The Island Packet of Hilton Head, The Sun News of Myrtle Beach, The Herald of Rock Hill and The Item of Sumter — are sponsoring.
Who? Appearing will be special-needs teacher Sally Atwater of Charleston, Anderson County school board member Gary Burgess, former deputy superintendent Meka Childs of West Columbia, former teacher Amy Cofield of Lexington, nonprofit head Sheri Few of Lugoff, USC math professor Don Jordan, Charleston school board member Elizabeth Moffly and S.C. Association of School Administrators executive director Molly Spearman of Saluda.
