Democratic candidates for U.S. Senate debate tonight

The Democratic candidates for the unexpired term of former U.S. Sen. Jim DeMint, now held by Republican Tim Scott, will debate tonight on ETV from 7:30 to 8 p.m. The debate is the third of five that ETV and a group of S.C. newspapers – The State, The Greenville News, The Beaufort Gazette, The Island Packet of Hilton Head, The Sun News of Myrtle Beach, The Herald of Rock Hill and The Item of Sumter -- are sponsoring.

Who? Appearing will be Richland County Councilwoman Joyce Dickerson and Myrtle Beach veteran Harold Pavlick.

What’s next? The GOP candidates for lieutenant governor will debate June 5 from 7p.m. to 8 p.m.

On deck: Next week, the GOP candidates for the U.S. Senate seat held by Lindsey Graham will debate June 7 on ETV.
