Governor’s schedule, activities

Gov. Nikki Haley’s publicly announced schedule for this week, released Monday by her staff, is:

•  Tuesday, 4 p.m.: Hold constituent meetings, State House
•  Thursday, 2 p.m.: Attend a Small Business Regulatory Review Committee meeting, S.C. Department of Commerce, Columbia
•  Friday, 3:30 p.m.: Address the S.C. Optometric Association’s annual conference, Hilton Head Island

According to her staff, Haley’s activities last week included:

4 — Economic development activities, including four meetings or calls, a jobs announcement in Winnsboro and an live, remote broadcast appearance at Walmart’s 2004 U.S. manufacturing summit

3 each — Meetings concerning unspecified state policy or policies; also activities concerning state agencies, a meeting, a call and a tour of the S.C. Vocational Rehabilitation Department in West Columbia; also, ceremonial duties, a State House photo opportunity, a bill signing and a reception for Lt. Gov. Yancey McGill, D-Williamsburg

2 — Calls to constituents, including a call concerning the death of a S.C. soldier killed in Afghanistan

1 each — Budget and Control Board meeting; also, a meeting concerning education

Busiest day: Tuesday, with seven activities

Slowest day: Friday, with three activities

Of note: Haley’s schedule included no activities for Monday, Aug. 11
