Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann spent Sunday night at the S.C. Governor’s Mansion, leading up to Monday’s Labor Day forum for GOP presidential candidates in Columbia.
It marks the second time in recent months that Bachmann has spent the night at the mansion with Gov. Nikki Haley and the Haley family. But South Carolinians should not assume the stays mean Haley is planning to endorse Bachmann, a U.S. representative from Minnesota, said Rob Godfrey, Haley’s spokesman.
All presidential candidates have a standing invitation to stay over at the mansion when they are in South Carolina, Godfrey said. Republican Haley has said she will endorse a candidate but has not done so yet.
