Winthrop Poll: S.C. voters, Republicans say Lindsey Graham should not run for president in 2016
Nearly two-thirds of S.C. registered voters say U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham should not run for president, according to a Winthrop Poll released Wednesday.
The poll, which surveyed 1,109 S.C. adults from Feb. 21 to March 1 with a margin of error of 3 percentage points, comes as the Seneca Republican makes visits to early-primary-states Iowa and New Hampshire while a political committee assesses whether the three-term senator should should pursue a White House bid in 2016.
President Elzey sues SC State, alleging it broke his contract

S.C. State University President Thomas Elzey sued the financially struggling school Tuesday, alleging it breached his contract after severance negotiations broke down.
Elzey also wants to stop the university’s board from firing him while his lawsuit goes through the courts. A hearing on that request is scheduled for March 19, said Nancy Bloodgood, Elzey’s attorney.
State Rep. Jenny Horne, R-Dorchester, will officially unveil to press her tax plan that would raise $2 billion for schools and roads at 10 a.m. on the first floor lobby of the State House.
The S.C. State Board of Trustees will host a meeting via telephone at 5 p.m. to decide on Elzey.
