The S.C. House passed a bill to allow concealed weapons in restaurants and bars Thursday, sending the bill to Gov. Nikki Haley for approval.

The bill would allow people who have licenses to carry concealed weapons to take guns into bars or restaurants as long as they do not drink alcohol. Businesses also could decide not to allow firearms on their property by posting signs. The bill also does away with eight hours of mandatory training required to get a permit, and makes it easier for retired military and law enforcement members to get concealed permits by showing proof of their training.
