A pro-Gov. Nikki Haley political group will begin Wednesday airing television ads statewide urging state senators to back her education plan. The ad comes as Haley, a first-term governor from Lexington, prepares for another run against Democratic state Sen. Vincent Sheheen this year. Democrats have said Haley co-opted plans they have recommended for years.

The X7, a full-size version of the company's popular X5 sports activity vehicle, will be made at the BMW Manufacturing Co. plant near Greer, U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., told The (Spartanburg) Herald-Journal reports. An formal announcement is expected Friday.

Library directors are asking S.C. legislators for the legal muscle to ban visitors who are disruptive or engage in behavior that makes others feel unsafe or uncomfortable. The officials are backing a state Senate bill that would make it a misdemeanor for someone to refuse to leave a library when asked by a library staff member or security, or to return to the library after being banned.
