The director of the S.C. Department of Social Services will testify next month before a state Senate panel tasked with reviewing complaints about the agency.
Director Lillian Koller has agreed to testify April 16, said Sen. Tom Young, R-Aiken, the chairman of a special DSS oversight committee meeting for the fourth time Wednesday morning.
Koller has not appeared at any of the hearings, where senators have heard testimony from child-welfare advocates, former DSS employees, county coroners, and parents and foster parents.
Koller also did not attend Social Services' budget presentation to a Senate Finance panel Wednesday morning.
After suffering a stroke in December, Koller's doctor has ordered her to limit her activity.
