It's raining Republican 2016 White House hopefuls in South Carolina.

Add former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum to GOP presidential wannabes coming to the Palmetto State after recent trip announcements by former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee and Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal.

Santorum, who finished third in the 2012 South Carolina presidential primary, will address two Charleston Republican groups on Monday, according to his Patriot Voices grassroots group.

He speaks to a Charleston County Republican Women's meeting at noon at Mark Clark Hall and addresses a meeting of the Charleston County Republican Committee at 6 p.m. at North Charleston City Hall. Santorum also will attend private fundraisers in Charleston and Columbia and meet with activists and political leaders, according to Patriot Voices.

Santorum will not be the only White House prospect visiting Charleston this week. Texas Sen. Ted Cruz is coming to The Citadel on Tuesday to speak at a Free Enterprise Foundation dinner.

Huckabee will headline a Pastors and Pews event in Greenville on May 2 sponsored by the American Renewal Project, which brought another White House prospect -- Texas Sen. Ted Cruz -- to Columbia in November, according to a copy of the invitation obtained by The State.

The trip next month will be Huckabee's first to South Carolina as a presidential hopeful since he finished second in the state's 2008 primary behind eventual GOP nominee U.S. Sen. John McCain. A group of S.C. pastors visited Huckabee in Arkansas in December at another Pastors and Pews event.

Jindal will headline the S.C. GOP Party's annual Silver Elephant Dinner on June 6.
