Texas Gov. Rick Perry will headline the Dorchester County GOP Big Bang Barbecue on July 1 with Gov. Nikki Haley introducing the 2016 presidential hopeful, according to an invitation obtained by The Buzz.
Perry is making his third visit to South Carolina in less than a year.
He spoke at Haley's re-election kickoff in Greenville in August and visited the Upstate in a swing during December.
Perry ended his mistake-marred 2012 presidential bid in South Carolina.
The Lone Star State boss is one of several 2016 White House prospects coming to the South's first presidential primary state.
Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, who also spoke at Haley's re-election event, will headline the S.C. GOP party's annual Silver Elephant dinner on Friday in Columbia.
Republican Sens. Rand Paul of Kentucky and Ted Cruz of Texas have visited South Carolina in the past year along with former GOP Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, who finished second to U.S. Sen. John McCain in the 2008 S.C. presidential primary.
A pair of Democrats, Vice President Joe Biden and Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley, have attended events in the Palmetto State since 2013, including a pair last month.
