The governor's appointee to the State Board of Education endorsed Molly Spearman in the S.C. Superintendent of Education runoff on June 24.
Mike Brenan is the past chair of the State Chamber of Commerce and co-chair of TransformSC, a business-led organization that promotes economic growth.
"Molly is the best qualified and will work closely with business and industry, teachers and administrators to transform public education," Brenan said.

Spearman will face Sally Atwater on June 24. The winner of the runoff will face the Democratic nominee in November.
