Tyler Perry, whose large-sized alter ego, Madea, has become a huge hit on the stage and on screen, is bringing his latest play to Columbia in February.
Perry announced on his Web site last weekend a Colonial Life Arena stop Feb. 12-13 for “Madea’s Big Happy Family,” the newest stage play by the Atlanta-based actor/playwright.
The tour begins Jan. 4 in El Paso. Other South Carolina dates are Feb. 2 at the Florence Civic Center and Feb. 10 and 11 at the North Charleston Coliseum.
Perry’s movies — some based on his gospel comedies and others written for the screen — are widely successful. He is a co executive producer of the drama "Precious," which is getting Oscar buzz.
