Civil War moments in S.C. -- March 6, 1864

The ever-irrepressible David, the Confederate semi-submersible that tried and failed to sink the USS New Ironsides, attacks the USS Memphis, a onetime blockade runner that the Union Navy had captured, in the North Edisto River. The attack fails.
