A St. Matthews woman is a quarter million dollars richer after purchasing a winning lottery ticket from a Columbia business, officials said.
The woman told lottery officials she purchased a Cash Bonanza scratch-off ticket at Sam’s Food Mart, 6340 St. Andrews Road, according to a news release from the S.C. Education Lottery.
The woman, who was not named, left the store after she learned she had a winning ticket and drove straight to the lottery’s claims center to cash it in, the release stated.
“I’m going to go crazy shopping,” she said.
She said she will start her shopping spree by purchasing a new car.
“I’ll remember this moment for the rest of my life,” she told lottery officials.
Four top prizes of $250,000 remain in the $10 Cash Bonanza game. The odds of winning $250,000 are 1 in 660,000.
Sam’s Food Mart in Columbia will also receive a commission of $2,500 for selling the claimed ticket.
