Authorities have added drug charges to the list of accusations against a 20-year-old Rock Hill man who is also accused in a hit-and-run car accident on Celanese Road and a pellet gun shooting in a Walmart parking lot.
Last Friday, Tevin Joseph was arrested by the York County Multijurisdictional Drug Enforcement Task Force on charges of possession of cocaine and possession of cocaine with intent to distribute within a half-mile of park, according to drug agents.
Joseph was arrested near Oakwood Acres Park about 4:30 p.m. Friday.
The hit-and-run and Walmart incidents happened Feb. 24 just hours apart, according to police. The arrest in the hit-and-run case helped detectives piece together the Walmart case from that morning, authorities say.
Rock Hill police made two arrests in a hit-and-run incident soon after witnesses gave officers enough information to find the suspect car, driver and a passenger. In that case, Joseph was charged with leaving the scene of an accident, according to police records.
In the Walmat case, Joseph was charged with armed robbery and assault and battery in connection with shoplifting and shots fired in the parking lot at the Newport Walmart. In that case, Joseph is accused of stealing a Samsung TV, an air pellet gun, a safe and BBs.
As the suspect left the store, a customer confronted him about not paying for the merchandise. Officers claim Joseph then pulled the stolen pellet gun from his waistband and fired it. No one was injured.
As of Tuesday afternoon Joseph was in the county jail. His bond was set at $10,000.
