A woman might have had better luck concealing stolen goods Monday at a Bluffton convenience store had she been wearing a shirt.

At about 10:20 p.m., a woman wearing only a purple bra and blue jeans entered Pantry 117 on Fording Island Road, a store clerk told the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office. The suspect grabbed a bag of Sweet and Spicy Jalapeno Cape Cod Potato Chips, which she hid under her armpit as she walked toward the front door, according to a report of the incident.

The clerk repeatedly asked the woman whether she was going to pay for the item before following her to her car. Outside, the suspect handed over the chips and left.
