It could take weeks to determine the causes of death for two people found dead in an Edisto Island hot tub, the coroner said Monday.
The investigation into the deaths of 80-year-old Ruth Elizabeth Ellis of Michigan, and her friend, 78-year-old Raymond Trewhella of Columbia, is continuing. Colleton County Coroner Richard Harvey said it could take up to six weeks for all the tests to be concluded.
Police Chief Bill Coffey says his officers were called Friday morning and found the bodies of Ellis and Trewhella, a former CEO and chairman of the board of Glassmaster of Lexington County. The two were in town for a wedding.
Coffey says the deaths aren't considered suspicious.
