`Myrtle Manor' attracts nearly 1.3 million viewers

"Trailer Park: Welcome to Myrtle Manor'' is seeing its best ratings yet, pulling in nearly 1.3 million viewers last Thursday, according to Nielsen, the company that measures the ratings of television shows.

"I just think it's fantastic,'' said Cecil Patrick, owner of Patrick's Mobile Home Park off of Highway 15 in Myrtle Beach where ``Myrtle Manor'' is filmed. ``It's unreal. Unbelievable.''

The show averaged 1.1 million viewers during its 10-episode first season, which aired last spring.

About 1.2 million viewers watched the season premiere of the show on Jan. 16, with viewership dropping slightly to 1.1 million for the second episode that aired Jan. 23.

"The people in charge, Weinstein Co., Jupiter [Entertainment], TLC are telling us that we're on the verge of exploding,'' Patrick said. ``I don't know what that means, but it's positive.''

Ratings haven't been as high for CMT's ``Party Down South,'' another reality show that filmed in Murrells Inlet last year. The first season of the show also premiered on Jan. 16.

Across three episodes, ``Party Down South'' is averaging about 717,000 viewers per episode, getting its highest viewership during the most recent episode last Thursday with 842,000 people watching.

Both shows air on Thursdays at 10 p.m.
