A day to give thanks for ‘the gracious gifts of the Most High God’

ONE HUNDRED fifty years ago, during one of the most challenging periods in this nation’s history, the 16th president of the United States called on Americans to pause to give thanks and offer up prayers that our nation might be restored. Amidst all the frantic meal preparations and football watching and anticipation of the Christmas shopping rush, perhaps the words of President Lincoln can serve as a fitting reminder of what today is really about:
