I lost what I thought was a good friend to right-wing hate radio and TV. My friend took the poison, and it consumed him. Meanwhile, the talk show hosts are laughing all the way to the bank.
Once we were cordially talking, and he made some loathsome remark about unions. I told him I had belonged to a union and it had been beneficial to me. From nowhere he exploded with rage and unleashed at me some of the most foul, profane name-calling I have ever heard. I was shocked in disbelief but walked away. He never apologized.
Recently it happened again. We were at another gathering and he blurted out something about President Obama that was completely false. I spoke up and told him it was not true. Same explosion, same rage, same hate-filled cursing and name-calling. I simply cannot overlook this deranged behavior a second time.
It is truly sad that people can be so brainwashed by right-wing hate propaganda that they lose sight of reality and become rage-filled bombs waiting to explode.
