There was a time when unions were necessary, but we no longer have sweatshops, child labor or unsafe working conditions. We have plenty of laws and plenty of lawyers, and anyone who has a grievance can take action.
Gov. Nikki Haley is right in saying we the people of South Carolina do not want unions in our right-to-work state.
The United Auto Workers decided not to appeal the vote at the VW plant in Tennessee. It probably feared another vote may be a worse outcome. Union members’ dues go to the Democratic coffers, whether the member wants them to or not.
Unions need to stay up North in union states. They are not welcome in South Carolina.
