Friday letters: Lindsey Graham a big spender

Sen. Lindsey Graham claims to be “pro-business.” Change “pro-business” to “corporate welfare” and you have the truth. Lindsey Graham thinks we don’t understand that welfare is welfare whether it’s for businesses or individuals. He is among those responsible for one of the biggest transfers of wealth in American history. He took billions of dollars from hard-working citizens and handed the money over to huge corporations and banks in the bank bailouts.

He is among those politicians whose campaign donors have received government contracts, tax breaks and incentives. In the 1930s, such a big-spending voting record would have been considered fascist. Nowadays, it’s called crony capitalism. It stinks by any name. It’s robbery, pure and simple. Being a U.S. senator doesn’t excuse his profligate spending of our tax dollars.
