“Suffer the little children to come unto me and forbid them not, for of such is the kingdom of God.”

These words spoken by our savior were also the mantra of June Hylton Timmerman, who passed to her heavenly reward on May 18.

“Ms. June Bug,” as she was often called, and her husband, John, had a vision many years ago of creating and maintaining a private elementary school to provide a viable alternative to children regardless of ethnicity or economic status. With the help of a few friends, the Timmerman School was founded. Over the years, thanks to outstanding teachers and wonderful leadership by the Timmerman family, it has become one of the finest private schools in South Carolina.

Children have received a quality education to well equip them for high school, college and the world beyond. Not only has it excelled academically, but it has provided wonderful training in family values and morals.

June has left a lasting legacy and made a wonderful contribution to so many children in the Columbia area.
