Today our veterans are not getting the care they deserve. This tragedy should never have happened, and we need to correct this problem as quickly as possible and plan ahead so it will never happen again.

Before we voluntarily go into wars such as Vietnam, Iraq or Afghanistan, Congress needs to commit the money and train the personnel necessary to provide long-term care for those who will be injured physically and mentally.

Learning from our present predicament, Congress should be willing to either pay the price for first-class care for our veterans or not become involved in any more wars.
