Two very simple, but important, things can be learned from the long wait times at the Charleston and Columbia VA hospitals.
First, no one conspired to falsify records to make the wait times seem shorter. Second, the figures proved that more personnel are needed.
No one should be penalized in the VA hospitals for this. They just reported the truth.
Those at higher levels should be continually banging on the doors of Congress for more funding for personnel. That's what these numbers say: We need more help.
