Thank you for running Leonard Pitts’ column July 10 on Louis Zamperini (“Unbroken” World War II vet more than a hero”).

What, indeed, do you call a person who is more than a hero? A man who could withstand so much torture, so much mental anguish — and forgive the sadistic prison camp guard responsible for so much of his suffering?

You call him a Christian. Louis Zamperini is an example of what almighty God can do with a human being who gives his or her life to Jesus Christ.
