Sheryl Hinton’s Sunday letter to the editor, “Some can’t get over Obama’s race,” is the perfect example of who really can’t get past race. She need only look in the mirror to see a person with a race problem.

My disgust, lack of respect and fear have nothing to do with President Obama’s color and everything to do with his blatant attempt to destroy our country and turn it into something unrecognizable.

Now that he has made such a mess of our country, people such as Ms. Hinton can’t accept the disaster that Obama is and therefore call anyone who criticizes him a racist. That’s very unfortunate because it keeps many people in power from telling the truth about Obama for fear of being labeled a racist themselves.

It’s sad that the first black president has been such a failure; he could have gone down in history as one of the greatest presidents if he had used the office to unite people rather than divide them and to strengthen America rather than tear her down.

Those who are trying to make themselves feel better by continuing to use nonexistent racism to defend their loser president are just blowing in the wind.
