Tuesday Letters: SC has enough lawyer-legislators

I live in House District 75. The Democratic challenger’s signs make no mention that he is a Democrat, same party as Barack Hussein Obama. His website does mention that he is a lawyer, but not that he is a trial lawyer. We sure need some more of those in the Legislature.

The Republican incumbent is a restaurateur and farmer and is very knowledgeable about government budgeting and finance. He is in the majority party in South Carolina.

If lawyers and their law partners were not allowed to appear before the judges they elect or regulatory bodies whose members they confirm, I wouldn’t object to attorneys in the General Assembly. But if that were the case, they wouldn’t have any reason to run for office, would they?
