Monday letters: It’s time for a change in Washington

I am proud and grateful to be an American citizen. However, I am thoroughly disgusted with our federal government. Our fundraiser-in-chief and his fellow travelers are systematically destroying our country and lying to us constantly.

Congress is top heavy with greedy politicians whose main concern is feathering their nests and getting re-elected. Scandals keep popping up all over the landscape like fire ant beds. Congressional Democrats are only concerned about advancing the president’s radical agenda and covering his derriere. He is speechifying, vacillating and stonewalling while the country stagnates.

He is fundraising while the Middle East and parts of Africa are aflame, Ukraine is being gobbled up by Russia, China is on the march, North Korea, Iran and Pakistan are developing nuclear weapons, Israel is fighting for its very existence and we are under siege by tens of thousands of illegal immigrants pouring across our southwest border. Gang members, killers, rapists and terrorists are part of this human tsunami.

The president’s top priority is controlling both houses of Congress. I hope he fails. It’s time for some positive changes in Washington. Remember, the 2014 and 2016 elections are crucial to this effort. If you don’t vote, don’t complain.
