Watching Gov. Nikki Haley’s campaign ads for specifics and for creditable progress, one sees warm and cuddly statements about the quality of life, for which she is credited.
We live in a totalitarian state. Our governor, our superintendent of education and the majority of legislators, who appoint our judges, are Republican. No wonder the lawsuit surrounding the “Corridor of Shame” has gone unanswered by our Supreme Court.
So much for an attempt to get equal funding per student. Our public school system is among the worst in the nation, which trails other nations in the world. The reason is our tax structure and schools’ dependence on local county real estate taxes.
A woman dies every 12 days in South Carolina from domestic violence. Recently, it was determined that potential abusers must give up their guns. Never mind that you can buy one at every street corner. Nikki Haley allows concealed weapons in restaurants, including during children’s birthday parties. I don’t want to eat surrounded by concealed weapons.
Never miss a local story.
As a reward for all this, NRA and ALEC, whose contributions and origins are kept secret from public view, roll into South Carolina.
