Gov. Nikki Haley and Attorney General Alan Wilson need to show tolerance of others and stop trying to enforce the ban on gay marriage in South Carolina.
Gay marriage hurts nobody. Unlike domestic violence, joblessness, inadequate education of students in poor districts, ethics reform for legislators, the homeless in the city, health care for the poor, repair or replacement of dangerous roads and bridges, and the list can go on.
As the concept of what constitutes a family has changed over time, so has that of marriage. It all comes down to showing tolerance for others and acceptance of who they are.
