It may be that if you tell a lie long enough, someone — and possibly even you — will begin to believe it.. But the fact remains that nothing can hold up as well as the truth.
I am fully aware that there is nothing I can say that would change the minds of any of the dyed-in-the-wool conservatives who insist that Barack Obama is a weak president and not qualified to be the commander in chief of these United States. There has been so much negativity in regard to this president that even Democratic candidates were afraid to share a photograph with him.
I still feel obligated to throw some truth against the wall to see if any of it sticks.
When President Obama stepped into office, this country was going through some very difficult times. Our soldiers were battling two wars, financial institutions and car manufacturers were threatening bankruptcy, interest rates were high for homes and college loans and everything else. Health insurance was priced out of the question for many. Unemployment was around 10 percent.
One only need to Google his accomplishments to see that he has been working hard to make life better for everyone. I am particularly pleased with his attempt to work with our allies to save our military men and women from a ground war.
I’m amazed that he has accomplished so much in spite of so much opposition.
I wish he had received some help from our recent election. However, life has taught me that often disappointments end up being blessings in disguise.
