Does anyone else find it ironic that the Rev. Neal Jones, a master of slippery logic and slippery-slope arguments, accused Cameron Runyan of the very same in his Nov. 26 letter (“Runyan uses slippery logic, dubious morality”)? Rev. Jones seems to be able to convince naive people that black is white, day is night, wrong is right, lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender is normal, same-sex marriage is equal to heterosexual marriage — all lies condemned by the Bible, of course.
Same-sex marriage is against God’s word — God approves only heterosexual marriage. The Bible calls any other sex adultery and fornication. Obviously, God never intended for same-sex marriage to convey rights and benefits equal to heterosexual marriage. He intended for everyone to obey the Bible.
Same-sex marriage does not provide social stability. Romans 1:29 states that gays and lesbians are “filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness, full of envy,” and continues for a total of 23 ungodly characteristics. Rev. Jones knows these do not provide social stability. Rather, he wants social upheaval so that LGBT can practice the “anything goes” lifestyle while calling Bible believers bigots. How intelligent is that?
We do not want members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community to be denied the fulfillment of a loving relationship. We want them to trust Christ for salvation so that he can transform their minds and desires. Then they can find a loving relationship in heterosexual marriage.
