I was taken aback by a letter saying that cats “are one of the few predators that kill for the fun of it” (“Coyotes are a nuisance, just like feral cats”).
The same could be said for humans, who kill animals (and people) “for the fun of it.”
The big difference is, cats don’t know any better. People do.
What should we do with these human “nuisances”?
The State publishes a cross section of the letters we receive from South Carolinians in order to provide a forum for our community and also to allow our community to get a good look at itself, for good or bad. The letters represent the views of the letter writers, not necessarily of The State.
