South Carolina won’t try to plow through this time.
The Gamecocks’ game hosting Vanderbilt tonight has been postponed until 4 p.m. Thursday due to wintry conditions in Columbia, USC announced on Wednesday. The university announced the cancellation during a campus-wide text alert around 2 p.m. on Tuesday, but the news wasn’t confirmed until Wednesday, when the SEC could approve it.
USC will not have a conflict with its women’s team, which usually plays on Thursday, because the Gamecocks are on their midweek bye this week.
Thursday’s game will be not be televised but will be streamed for free at USC’s website GamecocksOnline.com.
The Gamecocks played a home game on Jan. 29 as scheduled despite another winter storm. It was USC’s first SEC win of the season, over Texas A&M.
Tickets for Wednesday’s game will be honored on Thursday. If fans are unable to use single-game tickets purchased for Wednesday, they may be exchanged at Colonial Life Arena for any remaining men’s game, pending availability.
