South Carolina’s regular-season finale at Clemson on Nov. 29 has a six-day hold on its kickoff, the ACC announced on Monday. A kickoff time and TV network will be finalized after Saturday’s games.
The Gamecocks (5-5) and Tigers (7-3) will meet for the 112th time. The Tigers hold a 65-42-4 series lead but have lost five straight, their longest-ever losing streak to the Gamecocks.
Clemson posted the longest winning streak in rivalry history when it won seven straight games from 1934-40. The Tigers also had a seven-year non-losing streak from 1913-19 (the teams tied in 1915).
The Gamecocks must win one of their final two games to become bowl-eligible. USC has been bowl-eligible in all of coach Steve Spurrier’s previous nine seasons, although it did not go to a bowl in 2007 after a 6-6 year.
Never miss a local story.
The Gamecocks beat Florida last week while Clemson lost to Georgia Tech. USC hosts South Alabama on Saturday while the Tigers host Georgia State.
