ATLANTA - Atlanta Braves right-hander Derek Lowe has left the game against the New York Mets after two innings because of a blister on his right ring finger.
Lowe was lifted for pinch-hitter Greg Norton in the bottom of the second Wednesday night after giving up three hits in the top of the inning.
It was the shortest start of the season for Lowe, who gave up five hits and three runs, two earned, with two walks and two strikeouts.
Lowe appeared to be bothered by his hand from start of the game, which began after a rain delay of 1 hour, 56 minutes. He looked at his hand on his walk from the mound to the dugout after the first inning.
