Jay Baum went 3-for-5 with two RBIs and the go-ahead, run-scoring single in the eighth inning as No. 13 Clemson rallied for a 9-7 win over Eastern Michigan at Doug Kingsmore Stadium on Sunday.

The Tigers improved to 2-1 on the season, while the Eagles fell to 1-2.

The Tigers trailed 7-6 entering the eighth inning before the Tigers scored three runs without hitting the ball out of the infield. A costly two-out Eastern Michigan error extended the inning and allowed Clemson to score three unearned runs. The Eagles had trailed 4-0 and 6-4 before they took a 7-6 lead with three runs in the seventh inning.

Senior righthander Matt Campbell (1-0) earned the win by pitching the final 22/3 innings. He gave up two hits, one unearned run, and one walk with three strikeouts. Charlie Land (0-1), the fifth of six Eagle pitchers, suffered the loss despite allowing one hit and no earned runs in 21/3 innings pitched.
