2015 6-6 Tevin Mack of Dreher had one big performance after another this weekend in an AAU tournament in Pittsburgh. Mack had three games scoring in the 30s and a fourth in the upper 20s.
The event was, of course, heavily attended by college recruiters. Mack said Clemson coach Brad Brownell, USC coach Frank Martin and Gamecock assistant Matt Figger were among the coaches to watch him.
The Tigers and Gamecocks have not yet offered but Mack has a feeling that may change soon.
“Clemson said they were going to offer once they get my mom on campus, and I will visit USC this week,” Mack said. “They (USC) haven’t told me (about an offer), so we’ll see.” That visit will be Tuesday or Wednesday.
Mack said between the two Clemson has been showing the most interest. He has visited there twice while he’s been to USC four times. USC being in his hometown is not a factor Mack said. He has visited Virginia Commonwealth and Georgia as well.
Mack has offers from Georgia, Houston, Jacksonville, Miami of Ohio, Stephen F. Austin, Virginia Tech and VCU. He said Wake Forest, Southern Cal and Tennessee also are showing strong interest.
Right now Mack said he’s not planning to make a decision until next Spring.
