DB Juwuan Briscoe (6-0 185) of Waldorf, MD spent Saturday on a visit to Clemson and he became the Tigers' newest commitment before leaving campus. Briscoe is commitment #14 for Clemson's 2015 class and the third commitment of the week.
And the commitment was all part of Briscoe's plan as he had long favored the Tigers.
"I was already set on Clemson but the visit was the icing on the cake and the coaches were hyped especially coach Reed," Briscoe said. "Coach Dabo was telling me coach Reed has been bragging on me to him ever since he watched my film. We're very excited and I loved it from seeing the stadium on TV to physically being there in person. It was nothing but love."
Briscoe said he felt a lot of that love from head coach Dabo Swinney and that just assured him he was making the right decision.
"He's a really down to earth guy," Briscoe said. "He's real and up front with everything that he says and does which is a plus and he's focused on family and developing players into great young men."
Briscoe played primarily running back as a junior and he rushed for 1023 yards and 14 touchdowns. As a cornerback he was in on 38 tackles and had two interceptions.
Briscoe also has offers from Maryland, West Virginia, NC State, Old Dominion, Charlotte, Rutgers and Toledo. North Carolina, Ohio State, Penn State and Indiana have also been showing strong interest.
He visited Chapel Hill on Friday. He has also visited Rutgers, Maryland and Old Dominion.
Briscoe's speed and explosiveness are considered two of his greatest assets.
